Giving you can be certain of.
Jabal began as a small circle of friends and family who wanted to know, beyond doubt, that what they gave reached the people it was meant for. That has not changed.
How we started
Small by design, open from the first dollar.
Most giving asks you to trust and move on. Because Jabal began small, we could build the record-keeping in from the first week instead of bolting it on later. Recipients are verified before anything reaches them, distributions are photographed, and every dollar has a receipt behind it.
We're still small. Work done with iḥsān adds up anyway: over $165,000 distributed, with programs running every week of the year. If we grow, none of that gets looser.
What we want is an Islamic charity that can account for every cent it handles and still take a chance on ideas nobody else is trying. We would rather be judged on whether we manage both at once.

Costs kept low
We keep programme costs exceptionally low by drawing administrative expenses from a separate admin fund, so gifts meant for the field go to the field.
100% Zakat Policy
Every dollar of Zakat reaches an eligible recipient. Processing fees come out of our separate general funds, never out of Zakat.
Built for the long term
A share of donations goes into a permanent Waqf endowment, so a gift given once carries on giving even if every other donation stopped. We would rather end a family's need for aid than fund it again next year.
Open books
We verify distributions in the field, keep the photographs and receipts, and publish reports straight from our books.
How we got here
From one Ramadan to a mountain.

A circle of trust
Founded in Ramadan 1444 by friends and family who wanted to give with certainty. Incorporated in Arizona; 501(c)(3) status granted (EIN #92-3844405).
- 2023
First distributions
Inaugural Zakat distribution in Bangladesh, verified family by family, followed by the launch of weekly meals in Cirebon, Indonesia. Those meals have run every week since.
- 2024
Gaza response & Ummah Corps
Emergency meals and Glia-partnered tourniquet funding for Gaza. Ummah Corps opens in Cirebon: computer literacy, English, finance & math, and Silat for 47 students.
- 2025
Building for forever
The Jabal Legacy Waqf endowment is established: the principal is preserved and the returns fund programs year after year. First Qurbani season completed with full distribution documentation.
- 2026
Every dollar traceable
Our own operations platform now follows each dollar from donor to field report. The Entrepreneur Zakat Fund begins piloting: Zakat given as start-up capital, so a family stops needing it.
Named for a promise.
Jabalmeans mountain. Two hadith sit behind the name: a charity the size of a date that Allah grows until it is mountainous, and the high ground where a believer's faith takes refuge in hard times.
