When Jabal Foundation launched in late 2023, the Indonesia Meals program was our first sustained commitment. We wanted a food source families could count on, which does more for a household than charity that turns up occasionally. They can plan around it.
Distributions happen every Saturday morning in Cirebon, West Java, a coastal city with significant low-income communities. Our field team coordinates the logistics: sourcing fresh produce and staples from local markets, organizing packing volunteers, and managing the distribution routes across the community.
Every family on the distribution list is registered and regularly verified. Families experiencing acute hardship (illness, the death of a breadwinner, disaster) receive priority supplemental support in addition to the standard weekly package.
